Salted Caramel Sauce


  • 1/2 c water
  • 700g sugar
  • 1 c heavy cream
  • 100g butter, cubes
  • 1 tsp salt


  1. In a large saucepan, add water & sugar, and bring to a rolling boil. Do not stir at all. Let boil until mixture has melted down and is a light brown color (about 12 minutes).
  2. Bring saucepan off heat, add the heavy cream, and stir well. Add the butter & salt and stir until melted.
  3. Filter through a strainer into an airtight container.
  4. Serve over ice cream, or dessert of your choosing!
