This is my fool proof cake recipe that I’ve been making since freshmen year of high school!
Cake Ingredients:
- 2 cup sugar
- 1 ¾ cup flour
- ¾ cup cocoa
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- 1 ½ tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup boiling water
Instructions:
- Preheat oven 350.
- Mix together all the dry ingredients in a bowl.
- Mix together all the wet ingredients except the boiling water in a large bowl.
- Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix well.
- Add the boiling water and stir.
- Bake for 15 minutes in two, greased, 9” round pans, or until a fork comes out clean.
Icing Ingredients:
- 1 stick of butter
- ⅔ cup cocoa
- 3 cup powdered sugar
- ⅓ cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
Instructions:
- Melt butter and add cocoa.
- Beat everything together.
- Ice cake once cooled.
